As quick service restaurants battle for every consumer’s dollar spent, the value meal options can tip the scales to one location over the other. With the new McDonald’s McValue platform, the ability to customize the food options makes the order more than just savings some dollars on a meal.

Over the years, McDonald’s has offered ways for guests to save money on their order. From the newest $5 meals to the old-school $1 menu, people have long associated a quick service restaurant meal with being cost effective. No one wants to spend more than a tank of gas to feed a family at the drive-thru.

Starting on January 7, the McValue platform is designed to give guests more options, any time of day. Within four savings categories, “buy one, get one for $1,” “meal deals,” “local deals,” and “in-app exclusive deals,” guests do not have to choose savings or their favorite menu item. They have more control over every order.

According to Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA, “When it comes to value, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all. We’ve worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms. From deals on their personal go-to order to universal favorites like the $5 Meal Deal, we’re excited to give fans more ways to save every time they visit one of our restaurants.”

While many people will be excited to know that the $5 Meal Deal will continue, it is the “buy one, get one for a $1” option which gives guests the variety that they crave. Even if people have a preferred order, they do not want to be pigeonholed into finite options in order to save.

This value food option gives guests choices. At breakfast, it could be an extra sausage biscuit or an extra order of hashbrowns. Other mealtime options include a Double Cheeseburger or even some McNuggets.

In some ways, this value offer gives a second meal. For families, a burger and some McNuggets is a quick meal on the way to sports practice. When they can keep the order under $10 and have a side of convenience, everyone is a winner.

The McDonald’s McValue platform begins on January 7. Check back with the McDonald’s app, socials, and more for additional updates.
