While the Sunday Scaries can have some people wishing the weekend lasted a little longer, the Case of the Mondays is even more dramatic the day after the Big Game. Coors Light wants everyone to chill a little longer and take a sip of Mondays Light.
One particular Sunday in February is not a national holiday, but it might as well be one. Regardless of the two teams battling for the Lombardi Trophy, football fans and people who do not know a tight end from a running back gather around screens to watch the downs, halftime performance, and the commercials.
Since that game rarely ends at a reasonable hour, the next morning often comes too soon. Even for the person who did not imbibe, that Monday morning is often the worse case of the Mondays.
According to Coors Light and Talker Research survey, “41% singled out the Monday following game day as one of the worst of the year.” While there have been petitions to move the Big Game to Saturday and some people call in sick on that particular Monday, the reality is that people are far from bright eyed to start that work week.
This year, Coors Light is ready to make that particular Monday a little better. Mondays Light is a literal case of Coors Light. It is a reminder to embrace the chill and let all the other noise ride on down the rail.
As Marcelo Pascoa, Vice President of Marketing at Coors Light said, “Let’s face it: the Monday after the Big Game takes ‘Case of the Mondays’ to a whole new level. So, we thought, why not turn that classic ‘Case of the Mondays’ into a literal case of Coors Light? Mondays Light is our way of reminding fans to Choose Chill on one of the worst Mondays of the year.”
In addition to the Mondays Light, Coors Light is returning to the Big Game. Although details on the beer brand’s commercial have yet to be revealed, people are hoping for a memorable moment.
Recently, the brand made a big impression with its “refreshment” add. That spelling mistake is something that everyone has made. It might not be as bad as the reply all email, but errors happen, on every day, including Mondays.
Ready to make Monday a little more bearable? Enjoying some of that Rocky Mountain refreshment can help silence all the grumbling for a little while.
