Bee Lightly wine creates buzz in a bold, creative way
Joining the Albertsons Co Own Brands portfolio, Bee Lightly Wine is more than an entry into the affordable wine space. By innovating wine packaging, the brand proves that a great wine can be forward thinking. Ready to pour a glass and toast to a wine drinking evolution?
In many ways, wine and how it has been served has not changed over the centuries. While the cork might have been replaced by a screwtop and there have been canned options, the classic glass bottle has not changed.
As consumers become more environmentally conscious, how they consume food and beverages influences their purchases. Packaging that reduces waste has become a priority.
With Albertsons Co Bee Lightly wine, the brand has found a way to give consumers an affordable, great tasting French wine with innovative packaging. The first glimpse might have people doing a double take. More importantly, it is the bottle that will become a staple in their cart.
Speaking to the new wine, Curtis Mann, Master of Wines at Albertsons Cos said, “At Albertsons Cos., we are continuously looking for ways to distinguish ourselves within the wine sector and to expand our diverse selection of quality wines for our customers. By launching our new Bee Lightly selection, we are offering shoppers quality, affordable wines from France while also redefining wine packaging standards.”
What are Bee Lightly wines?
Available in two options, Bee Lightly Chardonnay and Bee Lightly Rosé, the wines are approachable to a wide range of wine drinkers. Whether enjoyed on their own or paired with a variety of food options, their versatility will make them a must buy on most shopping trips.
The Bee Light Chardonnay is melon forward. The aroma instantly brings a brightness as soon as it hits the glass. The combination of melon and pear makes it an easy choice for a cheese plate pairing or a simple roast chicken. With a slight oak and a touch of creamy buttery viscosity, it has a lovely mouthfeel. Finishing with a hint of honey, that touch of sweetness leads the drinker back for another sip.
The Bee Lightly Rosé is inspired by Southern French wines. While the subtle color is visually stunning, it is the juicy red fruits that make this wine special. With some hibiscus and even rose petals, the floral notes add depth. It is a perfect wine to enjoy on a leisurely afternoon.
Why is the Bee Lightly wines packaging innovative?
A quick glance at a wine shelf shows all bottles are the same. The labels might have bold designs, but one thing is common. All those bottles are made of glass.
With Albertsons Bee Lightly wines, the bottles have two major differences. First, the bottle are flat. The Packamama’s signature flat bottle design not only takes up less space on the shelf, it reduces costs to ship the wine. The reduced environmental impact is great.
Additionally, the bottle is made from recycled PET. It makes for a lighter bottle, which has a positive environmental impact, too.
While these bottles might have people needing to reconfigure their wine fridge, they work great in a regular refrigerator, cooler or picnic. Plus, no one has to worry about breaking a bottle by the pool or losing a cork if the bottle isn’t finished at the end of the night.
Will Bee Lightly start a trend in the wine industry? Only time will tell, but the choice to innovative is a bold one.
