Cheerios puts heartfelt messages on the box and in the bowl
Sometimes food connects people across generations. It is more than grandma’s recipe for Sunday Sauce. A favorite flavor can make memories brighten. As Cheerios brings back its Happy Heart Shapes, the special edition name boxes serve as a reminder that a bowl of cereal can nourish the body and soul.
Cheerios has been a staple in many people’s lives. While people can debate their favorite flavor or the perfect milk to cereal ratio in the bowl, the reality is that people enjoy that classic food. No matter what is going on, that simple act of picking up a spoon will satisfy.
Speaking to the return of the Cheerios Happy Heart Shapes and the new special name boxes, Kathy Dixon, Senior Brand Experience Manager for Cheerios said, “From being there to cheer on your kids’ activities to laughs across the breakfast table – these are the moments with loved ones that remind us why it’s worth saying, ‘Yes’ to taking care of our heart health. This year, the special-edition Cheerios name boxes and Happy Heart Shapes are a simple reminder for people to take care of their heart so they can be there for all of life’s special moments.”
It is the fifth year for the Happy Heart Shapes. This year, some boxes will feature names in both English and Spanish. Names include Mom, Friend, Grandparents and Family.
In addition, people can order custom boxes online. The special box, with customization up to 20 characters, can be purchased for $20 and ships for free.
The special-edition boxes will be seen at various retailers. The flavors included in this promotion are Original yellow-box Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Chocolate, Strawberry Banana and Apple Cinnamon.
Sometimes the simple gesture is the one that tugs at the heartstrings. Fill the heart and the stomach with a bowl of Cheerios. It might be the memory that brings a smile when it is most needed.
