Beverage trends continue to evolve. With the rise of the mocktail conversation, drinkers look at the favorite beverages differently. Instead of just cracking open a can, people see that liquid as a foundation for something more. DRIPS by Pepsi showcase how combining flavors create a delicious sipping experience.

Within the food and beverage space, the idea of “craft” is more than a hop-centric brew or a specialty coffee. The idea of infusing creativity, ingenuity, and individuality into a drinking experience is exciting. Whether it is enjoyed in the darkened corner of a speakeasy or in a group setting in a park, people want to celebrate the overall food moment.

With DRIPS by Pepsi, classic beverages are transformed with bold flavors, innovative concepts, and a little fun infused into the mix. As Chef Kyle Shadix, CRC, MS, RD, PepsiCo's Corporate Executive Research Chef for Global Beverages explained, “DRIPS by Pepsi is special because it takes the learnings of years of innovation and recipe development to deliver unparalleled new flavors to consumers and customers across the country.”

The list of special beverages blend food trends, favorite flavors, and creative approaches. It is a testament to the variety that Pepsi brands offer. Could these specialty offerings result in a new addition to a particular brand’s line? Only time will tell.

What are the DRIPS by Pepsi flavors?

The DRIPS by Pepsi flavors feature eight creative, innovative beverages. From sweet to savory, there is a little taste of something for everyone. The flavors are: Pepsi Forever S’mores, Starry Berry Basil, Starry Dragonfruit Blast, Dew Chill Dill, Dew Spicy Splash, Lipton Mango Horchata, Cotton Candy Lemonade and Rockstar Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

The Pepsi Forever S’mores seems to be a take on a limited edition flavor that Pepsi offered a few years back. The biggest difference is that this beverage has coconut and lime. In some ways, that tropical note might be a fun way to upgrade a traditional s’mores. It is an example how food and beverages influence each other.

The most controversial would be the Dew Chill Dill. While not necessarily a pickle takeover, it is clearly a savory, briny moment. Still, the idea of citrus, cucumber and basil works. People should take a sip before they dismiss it.

Overall, these beverages should get people to think beyond the can. While all of the classic PepsiCo beverages are refreshing, they can be the foundation to some other creative sip. It only takes a little imagination poured into the glass.

The DRIPS by Pepsi truck will be popping up within New York City. According to the brand, stops include: “Central Park’s Summer Stage on September 12, Domino Park at the Williamsburg waterfront from September 14 to September 29, on Saturdays and Sundays only from 1pm-7pm.” The specialty beverages have a starting retail price of $6.99.
