The summer heat might be sweltering but KFC Saucy Nuggets are bringing a sweet, smoky flavor to the table. Everyone is buzzing about the new KFC Honey BBQ Saucy Nuggets.

Earlier this year, KFC launched Saucy Nuggets. Before all the quick service restaurants were passing out the napkins for the saucy chicken dishes, the Colonel took the lead. Given that the iconic chicken brand understands what it means to be finger licking good, they were unafraid to go saucy, first.

While the menu launch had more flavors, the saucy summer menu focuses on just three options, the new Honey BBQ and returning flavors, Korean BBQ and Honey Sriracha. Fans of that Carolina Gold will have to start their Change.org petition now.

Speaking about the summer menu, Nick Chavez, CMO KFC U.S. said, “In response to requests from our customers, we’re rolling out our popular Honey BBQ sauce on our nuggets. KFC guests have loved our Saucy Nuggets and we’re excited to continue to introduce new flavors into the mix. Our Saucy Nuggets are made the KFC way – starting with our 100% white meat chicken nuggets, hand-breaded by our cooks with our distinctive Original Recipe of 11 herbs and spices and sauced to perfection."

Although swicy is still basking in its food trend, the sweeter BBQ flavors are always popular during the summer. Whether it is a classic, nostalgic, or just people wanting a taste of familiar, it makes sense that KFC would add Honey BBQ to its menu.

While it seems that everyone is saucing their fried chicken, the options are not the same. The key to a great bite is the fried chicken coating. How the sauce nestles into the nooks and crannies matters. A flat surface just allows the sauce to slide off. In that case, it is better to just dip the chicken into the sauce.

KFC’s Saucy Nuggets succeed because the combination of the 11 herbs and spices with the sauce offer a balanced bite. The sauce does not make the coating become soggy, rather it enhances it. The texture, which is a KFC signature, comes through in every bite. Whether eaten on its own, sitting on top of a bowl of mashed potatoes or mac and cheese, or served on a biscuit, the saucy nuggets are always a good choice. Personally, a saucy nugget biscuit sandwich is a must try.

Plus, KFC continues to bring value to the table. From $10 Tuesdays to $20 Family Meal, people appreciate that feeding a group does not have to break the bank. Even the individual has an option with the $4.99 Meal for One. Basically, there is a cost-effective way to eat out at KFC.

Grab a lemonade, some saucy nuggets, and biscuits. Summer is here and no one wants to be stuck in the kitchen cooking.
