Some people are drawn to a particular food. Whether that flavor or dish was introduced by grandma or was the signature item served at every family gathering, the aroma, taste, and feeling transports people back to that connection. With the Lay’s Flavor That Hits Home lineup, the snack giant celebrates tastes that have people thinking about the past, present, and future.

Food trends continually evolve. As some people discover their cultural roots, that personal connection flavors the choices on the table. It might be a simple spice or a combination of ingredients. No matter the scenario, the reality is that people want more than just a bite to satiate a hunger. Empty food often leads to less satisfaction.

With Lay’s Flavor That Hits Home, the chips look to create a conversation beyond the snack in the bag. While some of the offerings might have people remembering when they first arrived in stores, the Frito-Lay snack brand wants to spark a bigger conversation..

According to Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing, PepsiCo Foods North America, “As a leader in product innovation, Lay’s continues to bring fans delicious flavor experiences on a potato chip. With the Flavor That Hits Home lineup, we’re helping fans taste the cherished dishes they know and love from their hometowns in an entirely new way, with the hope that every bite inspires fond memories of enjoying meals back home with family and friends.”

What are the Lay’s Flavor That Hits Home flavors?

Focusing on U.S regions, the Lay’s Flavor That Hits Home offerings are: Lay’s Crispy Taco, Lay’s BLT Sandwich, Lay’s Fried Pickles with Ranch, and Lay’s Kettle Cooked Lime & Cracked Pepper. Although the Lay’s Kettle Cooked Lime & Cracked Pepper offering is not necessarily tied to a particular region, that classic bright yet slightly spicy offering seems to have universal appeal. In some ways, it is almost like a twist on a salt and vinegar chip with a little extra punch.

Looking at the other offerings, the flavors and their respected regional connections are clear. Crispy Taco is a nod to the West. While not necessarily overly spicy, the chip is more than taco seasoning on potato. It feels like a complete taco bite.

With the Crispy Taco, it is a great option to be served as a topping for a taco salad. Instead of a tortilla chip, consider this snack option as more flavorful choice.

Since potato chips are often served with sandwiches, the Lay’s BLT Sandwich has that smoky bacon note with a little brightness from a tomato. Thinking about this flavor, it is amazing as a topping for a burger. Although not necessarily a substitute for bacon, it adds that texture as well as being a flavor enhancer.

Lastly, the Lay’s Fried Pickles with Ranch is tangy and briny. Since the pickle flavor trend is not stopping any time soon, people will gobble up this offering. And, these chips are delicious served with a chicken sandwich or used as a coating for a chicken sandwich.

The Lay’s Flavor That Hits Home chips are available now. While the Lay’s Kettle Cooked Lime and Cracker Pepper are available nationwide, the other flavor varieties are only available in their respected regions or they can be purchased at Snacks.com. Check with stores for availability and pricing.
