Melissa Rauch celebrates the rice thing to do at snack time, interview
When viewers watch Melissa Rauch on screen, they know that her vivacious smile is matched by her comedic timing. Although those laughs make shows like The Big Bang Theory and Night Court must watch television, those qualities help her make snack time equally as entertaining. With the help of Quaker, the talented actress invites everyone to celebrate “The Rice Thing To Do” and taste the difference.
Food should be fun. Although no one is suggesting that they break into song while shopping in the grocery aisle, the reality is that food should elicit a positive response. If the happy cannot be grasped, there is no reason to put that food in the cart or on the table.
Quaker’s The Rice Thing To Do! Series is about making its Rice Cakes and Rice Snacks engaging. Given the flavor variety, there are almost endless ways to enjoy those crispy, crunchy, tasty treats.
Recently, FoodSided conducted an email interview with Melissa Rauch, who is the face of Quaker’s The Rice Thing To Do! campaign. Below is a transcript of that conversation.
Cristine Struble/FoodSided: Rice cakes now come in so many different flavors, what are some of your favorite flavors and do you have a favorite flavor combination?
Melissa Rauch: It's hard to pick a favorite when there's so much flavor variety to choose from! When I want something savory or zesty, I choose Dill Pickle Quaker Rice Crisps, but when I want something sweet, I go for Salted Caramel or Chocolate Quaker Rice Thins.
CS: With all the summer fun, everyone seems to be hungry for more snacks. What are some easy, fun summer snack ideas that you enjoy?
MR: I love how convenient Quaker Rice Snacks are; they’re a delicious and easy addition to our everyday snack plates and or grab-and-go summer treats. Depending on what I’m in the mood for, I alternate between the endless flavor options, like Caramel Rice Crisps and Cheddar Rice Chips. The variety keeps our summers interesting.
CS: Some people try to make fun visuals with their snacks or use creative themes. Do you ever serve some visually creative snacks?
MR: Fun snacks are a staple in my house! We love to get creative with shapes and flavor combinations. With Quaker Rice Cakes specifically, the options are endless, and we love adding toppings like peanut butter and fruit in the shape of a smiley face! We also arrange them like flowers using fruit to create a colorful summer foodscape!
CS: Sometimes the dreaded “I’m bored” phrase is said too often during summer. What are some fun ways that you keep everyone engaged during the summer?
MR: I love involving my kids in making their snacks, especially when we get creative like I just mentioned! We also love to do trash-to-treasure crafts with items that would normally be thrown out. Tops to fruit pouches, wrappers…the Quaker rice crips bags can turn into some pretty awesome art!
CS: The Quaker Campaign is “The Rice Thing Do.” What are some nice things that you do for yourself to make you feel good?
MR: I try to find balance for myself, even in the snacks I choose. That’s what “The Rice Thing To Do” means – choosing a delicious, crunchy snack that you can also feel good about. I also love taking walks while listening to my favorite music. It just helps to put me in a good mood for the day.
All the “The Rice Thing To Do” opportunities are waiting to be discovered. Ready to grasp and taste the possibilities?
