As the NFL playoffs take center stage and look to take the first step towards the big game in Las Vegas, these NFL teams inspired cocktails from Sammy Hagar Spirits hit the high note. Ready to rock the flavor with a spirited toast to victory?

Themed cocktails can turn any occasion into a special one. Even though some people might grab that favorite beer, a cocktail can shake up the event in a flavorful way. Often these cocktails are based on classic beverages and familiar flavors. Sometimes, the connection is more than in name only. No matter the scenario, that special libation could be a lucky charm.

Recently, Sammy Hagar Spirits shared some NFL teams inspired cocktails for the playoff season. Although sipping one of these beverages does not guarantee a victory, it can make the win sweeter or the loss more bearable.

The Baltimore Ravens - Baltimore Margarita

Although everyone is “flapping” about Baltimore’s chances to go all the way, the Baltimore Margarita borrows inspiration from the bold purple color. Made with Santo Mezquila and prickly pear syrup, the margarita packs a big punch.

he Baltimore Ravens - Baltimore Margarita

Ingredients:
1 ¼ ounces Santo Mezquila
¼ ounce triple sec (or any high quality orange liqueur)
1 ½ ounces prickly pear syrup
½ ounce fresh lime juice
2 ounces sweet & sour mix

Preparation:
Run a fresh lime wedge around the rim of a chilled margarita glass. Then roll the moistened rim in sugar. Fill the glass with ice and set aside. In a cocktail shaker, add the mezcal, triple sec, prickly pear syrup, lime juice and sweet & sour mix. Shake well and pour into the prepared glass.

The Kansas City Chiefs - KC Mojito

Although the Chiefs reign might be facing a new era, the KC Mojito is still bright and refreshing. It might not be a trip to South America, but it is a bright cocktail.

Ingredients:
2 ounces Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum Rum
1 ounce ginger beer
¾ ounce Sammy’s Beach Bar Red Head Rum
½ ounce of fresh pineapple (puree, juice, or freshly chopped)
½ ounce fresh mango (puree, juice, or freshly chopped)
½ habanero pepper, chopped
2 ounces fresh yuzu juice
3-4 fresh kaffir lime leaves
1 ounce lychee simple syrup
Garnish: fresh mint sprig

Preparation: In a cocktail shaker, add the pineapple, mango, habanero pepper, yuzu, lime leaves and lychee simple syrup. Using a muddler, gently (yet firmly) muddle the ingredients. Add Beach Bar Platinum Rum and a stir well and pour into a Collins or highball glass filled with crushed ice. Top with the ginger beer and Redhead Rum.

The Houston Texans - Texan Spice

Similar to the Texans’ success this season, the Texan Spice cocktail has an unexpected kick. Made with Monin Chipotle Syrup and Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum Rum, it demands attention.

Ingredients:
1 ½ ounces Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum Rum
½ ounce Sammy’s Red Head Rum
1 ½ ounces Monin Chipotle Syrup
3 ounces fresh pineapple juice

Preparation: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the rums, pineapple chipotle syrup and pineapple juice. Shake well and strain into a Catalina glass filled with ice. Garnish with a skewer of fresh pineapple cubes.

The San Francisco 49ers - Niner Gang Sangria

Poised to make a sweet run to the big game, this sangria recipe uses Santo Blanco Tequila. The flavor is refreshing and a bit boozy.

Ingredients:
1 ½ ounces Santo Blanco Tequila
4 ounces fresh orange juice
½ ounce fresh lime juice
Splash of red wine
Splash of mineral water

Garnish: Fresh orange wheel and maraschino cherry

Preparation: In a Mason Jar filled with ice, add the tequila, orange juice and lime juice and stir. Top with a splash of red wine and mineral water and garnish with a fresh orange wheel and maraschino cherry.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktail Co. Cherry Cola Chill

The Bucs might not have a former Super Bowl champion under center, but this cocktail feels a bit nostalgic. From the sweetness of a classic soda fountain to a hint of spice, it is a great can to have in hand during the game.

The Los Angeles Rams - The LA Splash

Bright, refreshing, and infinitely sunny seem to describe this cocktail. Even though LA might be full of stars, this inspired cocktail is all about the epic plays that make football legends.

Ingredients:
2 ounces Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum Platinum
2 ounces fresh orange juice
Tonic water, as needed

Preparation: Fill a Collins glass with ice. Add the rum and orange juice. Stir well and top with tonic water. Garnish with a fresh orange wheel.
