SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Sprint Run has terror fans racing to the start line
Like many well-told terror tales, the strike of midnight bodes a dire warning. At SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Sprint Run, this late night race is the first for a theme park and it will have people lining up for the ultimate experience.
During the annual Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld, guests are often walking quickly around corners, maneuvering deftly through scare zones, and sometimes hurrying through those haunted houses. Even with all that swiftly paced moments, it is a little different then knowing someone or something is running beside you in the dead of night.
For the first time, SeaWorld Orlando is offering the Howl-O-Sprint Run. The special event held on Friday, September 13, 2024 will have racers traversing the park. Knowing that a safe zone is waiting at the finish line, it might have some runners hitting a personal best time.
Speaking about the new Halloween event, Jon Peterson, President of SeaWorld Orlando said, “For years, SeaWorld Orlando has been dedicated to delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests, and we continually listen to their desires for more immersive and experiential events. Our award-winning Howl-O-Scream is the perfect backdrop to introduce the Howl-O-Sprint 5K. This isn't your average run; it's a thrilling, heart-pounding journey through the supernatural that promises to be unlike anything our guests have ever experienced. We are excited to challenge the bravest among us to test their limits in this one-of-a-kind nighttime terror adventure on Friday the 13th.”
While most 5Ks start early in the morning, this special event begins at midnight and ends at 2 a.m. Given the short duration, the participants do need to move at a decent pace. No one is saying that racers need to run an Olympic paced mile split, but it needs to be quicker than a leisurely stroll.
At the finish line, there will be some libations and other rewards waiting. Hopefully everyone reaches Sirens Bar unscathed.
The space for this special event is limited to 4,000 runners and a small amount of spectators. The event is ticketed separately from the Howl-O-Scream event. It is for adults only. Tickets are $85 for non-passholders and $66.66 for passholders.
Drown your fears at new SeaWorld Orlando Howl-O-Scream bars.
Since its inception, Howl-O-Scream has been a more intense Halloween event. While the haunted houses beckoned the brave souls into the dark, twisted scenes, it was more than terrifying images which make this experience engaging for the guest.
The Howl-O-Scream bars and creative food offerings that set the SeaWorld Orlando event apart. From interactive characters to the specialty cocktails, it creates a whole vibe.
Last year’s Carnival area was one of the best people watching events. The Longshoreman Bar is always a hit. For the person who likes to take a break from the screams to the person who likes to people watch, there are plenty of reasons to linger a little longer.
For the 2024 event, there are five interactive bars, including two new options. Overall, this year is looking to be bigger than ever. There are seven scare zones, five haunted houses, three roaming haunts, and two shows. Every minute will be filled with frights.
