With New Year’s resolutions front of mind, Starbucks is giving guests a new beverage to enjoy. Joining the permanent menu, the new Iced Shaken Hazelnut Oatmilk Espresso offers a rich, creamy sip. Thirsty for that first taste?

The new Iced Shaken Hazelnut Oatmilk Espresso combines Starbucks Blonde Espresso with hazelnut syrup. Then, it is topped with oatmilk. It should be nutty, slightly sweet, and very creamy.

According to Starbucks beverage developer Billy Altieri, “Hazelnut is a classic coffeehouse flavor – its smooth, nutty taste is perfectly complemented by the candied apple and bittersweet chocolate notes of Starbucks Blonde Espresso. The oatmilk adds a creamy and luscious texture to round out the Iced Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.”

There are two items to note with this new offering. First, adding another plant-based beverage shows that consumers want variety in this category. It is no longer just having the beverage swap. They want to be able to switch up their order periodically.

Second, hazelnut seems to be a classic flavor that deserves to be part of the conversation. Even though people might want sweet choices, the nutty flavor has become as important as vanilla or caramel.

While many people will want to try the new Iced Shaken Hazelnut Oatmilk Espresso, two fan favorite beverages return. Joining the winter menu are Pistachio Latte and the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew. Many people are happy to see these two beverages return. It seems that nutty flavors are the focus of the 2024 late winter menu.

Also, two new food menu items join the Starbucks line-up. They are Potato, Cheddar and Chive Bakes and Vanilla Bean Custard Danish.

The new egg bake is a curious choice. It feels heartier than other options, yet it has familiar ingredients like cheddar cheese and spinach with potatoes. It is similar to a casserole, but it does not require the heavy lifting. Given that on-the-go and convenient food options are wanted by consumers, Starbucks needs to have variety in that category.

The Vanilla Bean Custard Danish takes the pastry case in a new direction. The offering is a classic flavor and feels indulgent. Also, it is a flavor that pairs well with the new nut forward winter menu coffee beverages.

The new Starbucks menu items are available now. Check with each location for availability and pricing.
