Taco Bell champions a big change to National Taco Day
Everyone knows that national food days are a reason to celebrate. Now, thanks to Taco Bell, National Taco Day finds its rightful home on a Tuesday. Ready to celebrate with some tacos?
While everyone’s personal calendar might be full of meetings, to-do lists, and other important dates, National Day Calendar tracks all the food celebrations. Those days highlight a well-known dish or something more obscure. No matter the scenario, there is always something to eat.
As many food lovers know, National Taco Day is celebrated on October 4. Unfortunately, that scenario does not mean the event is held on a Tuesday, which is the day of the week synonymous with tacos.
In another successful petition to get tacos celebrated on Tuesdays, Taco Bell worked with National Day Calendar to move National Taco Day to the first Tuesday in October. As Marlo Anderson, founder of National Day Calendar said, “Thanks to Taco Bell's efforts, we’re excited to officially move National Taco Day to the first Tuesday in October, creating the Taco Tuesday of all Taco Tuesdays. National Day Calendar has always thrived on the grassroots support of people who love celebrating these moments, and this change is a perfect example of that. It’s more than just moving a date—it’s about bringing taco lovers together in a bigger way, and we couldn’t be more excited!”
Starting in 2024, National Taco Day will move to the first Tuesday in October. In this year’s scenario, the food holiday will fall on October 1.
What does this mean for taco lovers? It is another opportunity to enjoy some great Taco Tuesday deals. Although not announced by the quick service restaurant, it seems likely that Taco Bell will celebrate with a special offer.
