West Wilson and Captain Morgan Sliced carve another notch on the Bucket List, interview
While West Wilson might have booked his summer house plans, he appreciates that the U.S. offers a wide array of travel adventures. With the help of Captain Morgan Sliced, more people can cross off that travel Bucket List with some epic itineraries.
Through his partnership with Captain Morgan Sliced, I spoke with West Wilson about his epic travels, what he thinks that travel offers, and how beverages pair with an epic getaway. Although many people would like for him to spill some secrets on his current summer plans, those topics are under wraps until a later date.
West has accomplished a feat that many people would are trying to complete, visiting all 50 states. Even though picturesque images of Greek Isles, snowcapped Alps, or rugged safari landscapes can cause wanderlust, the reality is that the United States offers all types of adventures on Route 66 and beyond.
Since he grew up in Missouri with parents who made a point of traversing the U.S., West has come to appreciate the escapes that can be found both near and far. As he explained, getting out to explore those places in real life is much different than the facts learned in Fourth Grade Geography class.
Although he has checked all 50 states off his travel bucket list, that accomplishment was not necessarily planned. West explained, “it started when I was really young with my parents.” Since he grew up in Missouri, he shared that the trips would often involve traversing a few states along the way. But, there were a few rules for the state “to count.” It required more than just a simple drive over the border, airport layover, or other quick trip.
West shared that his father was a world history teacher, which added some educational aspects to the trip. While there was not a test taken once they go home, he said there was learning mixed into the fun. He recalled a trip to Mesa Verde where his family explored the canyons. He spoke fondly of seeing those ancient ruins. Although there was learning mixed into the event, it was a great travel memory.
In some ways, those lasting experiences are to the heart of what this Captain Morgan Sliced promotion is all about. While lucky adventurers will get an opportunity to sail on a yacht off the Florida coast, head to a ranch in Colorado or see the Northern Lights in Minnesota, it is more than just the single event. It is about enjoying this opportunity with friends and the camaraderie created during those travels.
When asked which of the three options caught his attention, West said he would pick the Colorado ranch trip. Although cool mountain air might be a great escape from the New York summer heat, West said this getaway would be different from his usual trips with “his boys.” From going back to his “ranch roots” to taking a break from the city, it is not a City Slicker meme moment. West is ready to prove everyone wrong with “his horse knowledge and cowboy background.”
Since his summer has been very busy, West is thinking about vacations where he can slow down a little, “go outside and touch the grass,” or just take a break. In some ways, all of the Captain Morgan Sliced opportunities offer that moment to step outside of the daily grind.
While many people would love the opportunity to carve off one of these bucket list adventures, there are plenty of ways to get a sliver of relaxation by sipping on a Captain Morgan Sliced. I had to ask West which flavor was his favorite.
West shared, “the first one I tried was the strawberry Margarita and there's something about the first sip you take that sticks with you, is very memorable and makes you feel alive. However, we did a food crawl in New Orleans last weekend and one of them is the Passionfruit Hurricane, which is like a very Louisiana, New Orleans based drink. That drink in New Orleans felt perfect in the moment.”
For anyone looking to quench that wanderlust feeling at home, sipping one of the Captain Morgan Sliced beverages could be the tasty option. Whether the Strawberry Margarita captures the juicy vibes soaking in the sun on a Florida coast or Pineapple Daiquiri that has people staring at the night sky looking for imagery in the stars, the beverages can fit almost any scenario.
What is the next trip for West Wilson to slice off his bucket list? West wants to try his hands at lobster fishing. It might be time to head to Key West and dive for some of those spiny shellfish. Maybe there will be a few chilled Captain Morgan Sliced beverages waiting when he comes ashore.
