For years, Reggie Bush stopped on a dime, barreled across the goal line, and scored epic wins on the football field. This year, he has partnered with Tostitos ahead of Super Bowl LIX to share some of his expertise on stopping the clock, as well as some epic game day fun.

Football fandoms run deep. It is more than just wearing a special jersey on game day. True fans know every stat, recall game winning plays, and are in awe of those legendary players. For many New Orleans Saints fans, Reggie Bush is one of those players where they can recall his epic drives.

Through his partnership with Tostitos and its Super Bowl LIX events, I had the opportunity to chat with Reggie Bush. With the Big Game heading back to the Big Easy, he is excited for everyone to have the opportunity to experience a city that he holds dear.

He said, “I have a very special place in my heart for New Orleans. It was where I was drafted, and the city welcomed me with open arms during a period that they were going through so much after Hurricane Katrina. When I was first drafted, we became active in the community right away. It was an opportunity to give back to all the people who welcomed me.”

“This chance to partner with Tostitos and give something back” continues that story. From the person who gets to set off the confetti to the opportunity to meet Reggie Bush at the Chips and Sips Quarter, it is about the fan engagement. Bush said, “having be able to accomplish so much in the NFL, it is wonderful to be able to go back, give back, and have some fun.”

As the face of the Tostitos Stop the Clock promotion, Bush had some simple advice for those football fans preparing to stop the clock at exactly 5.9 seconds. With the winner being able to launch the confetti at Super Bowl LIX, there is a big prize on the line.

“You have to believe first and foremost that you can press the button in the time, 5.9 seconds. It will take some skill and practice, but it is achievable. Whether you use a stopwatch or your phone, once you are ready you can take it to the real thing.”

While the 5.9 seconds is a nod to the current Super Bowl number, Bush was not a superstitious player. He said that his focus was on trying to win the game and make the big plays. For him, it was about being in the moment and channeling his energy into every decision.

Although super fans might believe their rally cap has an positive impact and may not wash their favorite jersey during a win streak, the ability to interact with one of their favorite players is often a bucket list item. The upcoming Chips and Sips Quarter is one of those opportunities.

Bush reflected on the connection between fans and their favorite athletes. He shared, “for football players or celebrity athletes, we are in a position to be role models.  We can inspire people of all ages, races, and ethnicities. It is something that I’ve always appreciated and felt a sense of humility. Getting the chance to meet people and that impact on them is meaningful. I am always appreciative of those moments because it is a time when you know that you did your job.”

As the NFL heads into the playoffs, everyone is hoping their favorite team will have the opportunity to raise the Lombardi trophy and earn the title of Super Bowl LIX Champion. Although New Orleans will not have their home team battling for the crown, Bush had a few predictions for both the AFC and NFC Champions.

“In the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills are the two teams that jump out. Both have the quarterbacks, receivers, run game and defense to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are playing at the highest level. The Kansas City Chiefs are 15 and 1, and they had a great season. But, we haven’t see that explosive offensive package from them like the past few seasons. There is opportunity for other teams, but you have to dethrone Kansas City, and the team is undefeated at their house in playoff games.”

“On the NFC side, I love what the Washington Commanders are doing, especially with Jayden Daniels at the quarterback position. He looks like their future. Also, you cannot rule out the Philadelphia Eagles.”

While Reggie Bush has submitted his picks for the final showdowns, the only thing left is for fans to work on their reaction time. More information on the chance to launch the Super Bowl confetti can be found on TasteOfSuperBowl.com or on Tostitos social media channels. It is the opportunity to have a game winning moment that is part of history.
