The classic food pairing of cheese and crackers is being transformed. With the new Sargento Cheese Bakes, the crispy cracker snack ensures that the real cheesy flavor is front and center in every bite.
Snacking is more than just a food trend. Since people choose to graze over sitting down for a meal, the snack aisle has expanded with more creative food takes. Beyond the swicy flavors and alternative grains, people crave familiar packaged in an innovative way.
The Sargento Cheese Bakes play into that culinary mindset. People trust the Sargento brand and happy stock the deli drawer with their cheeses. It is more than the Green Bay Packers Cheeseheads who loved seeing that cheese-wedge car driving around the stadium. People know that every Sargento cheese delivers the flavor, texture, and consistency that they craved.
The new offering takes that classic cheese and transforms it into a snackable, crunchy format. As Erin Price, General Manager, Sargento explained, "Creating new and flavorful ways for families to enjoy real, natural cheese is what Sargento has done best for more than 70 years. Now, for the very first time, consumers will see our family-owned brand outside of the dairy case and in the cracker aisle thanks to our continued partnership with Mondelēz.”
What are the Sargento Cheese Bakes flavors?
The Sargento Cheese Bakes come in three flavors, Aged White Cheddar and Rosemary, Pepper Jack, and Parmesan and Oregano. Looking at the three flavors, the Pepper Jack is the most expected. Even though the classic cheese has a slight kick, the flavor is approachable.
Additionally, the Pepper Jack works well on its own or combined with other flavors. If this flavor was used on a board, it would pair well with cured meat, crudite, or even a little fig jam.
The Aged White Cheddar and Rosemary might be the most divisive flavor of the three options. Some people find rosemary a little too woody. Given the sharpness of the cheddar, it can help cut through the slight earthy quality. Since this cracker might be a little much to eat on its own, consider pairing it with a simple salami or even another slice of cheddar.
Lastly, the Parmesan and Oregano captures a taste of Italy. Consider pairing this cracker with some cherry tomatoes or even use the cracker as a base for a bruschetta. The flavor is well balanced and has tremendous versatility.
The new Sargento Cheese Bakes will be available starting in March 2025. Check with retailers for availability and pricing.
