Snack Factory shakes up a new snack category with Pop’ums
While swicy continues to keep food trend followers buzzing, Snack Factory wants people to think beyond flavor. The classic Pretzel Crisps are getting a textural makeover. Ready to satisfy a new crunch craving with Pop’ums?
Snacks can fall into different categories. Salty or sweet and crunchy or soft are various descriptions that fill the food space. Even though many people have a tried and true favorite snack, food innovation can have them grabbing a new bag off the shelf. Whether it is excitement or curiosity, the craving hits and must be satisfied.
Although flavor often drives innovation, Snack Factory is taking a different approach with its latest offering. Pop’ums are a curious food mashup of pretzel meets popcorn.
Speaking about the new Pop’ums, Janda Lukin, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Campbell’s Snacks said, “Snack Factory forever changed snacking with the debut of Pretzel Crisps 20 years ago. With Pop’ums, we are rethinking what a pretzel can be once again with a snacking experience unlike any other: combining the crunchy baked goodness of pretzels with the light, flavorful munchability of popcorn to create an irresistibly delicious snack.”
While the texture is different, the shape is vital to the overall eating experience. According to the brand, the snack’s shape is designed to enhance flavor. As anyone knows, flavor is always king in the food world.
What are the new Snack Factory Pop’ums flavors?
While the snack looks to set itself apart from other offerings in the food aisle, the specialty flavors will keep consumers purchasing bag after bag. Getting consumers to be a repeat customer is key to a company’s longevity.
The Pop’ums flavors are: White Cheddar, Golden Mustard BBQ, and Sea Salt. For the person who wants an easy entry, the Sea Salt is a solid choice. It hits the classic combination of salt and butter popcorn. Luckily, all the pieces have flavor, which is always important.
The White Cheddar is another classic entry. Cheese and popcorn or pretzels always go together. This option is cheesy, but not too salty. It hits the right balance.
The most interesting flavor is definitely the Golden Mustard BBQ. While there is an underlying smoky quality, like BBQ, it is the tanginess that makes this flavor a hit. Between the spicy, tang, and smoke, it is easy to eat a whole bag without realizing it.
The new Snack Factor Pop’ums will roll out to retailers in January 2025. The suggested retail price is $5.49/9 oz bag. Check with retailers for pricing and availability.
