One of the most popular fast-food places to grab sliders is celebrating the upcoming launch of Marvel Television series Ironheart, premiering on Disney later this month. The show is based in Chicago, creating the perfect connection to White Castle, which has been centered in the Windy City since 1930.
As part of the promotional collaboration between Ironheart and White Castle, the chain restaurant will be offering a special drink dubbed the "Mechanized Mix." It is a Fanta beverage that guests can make via the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine and features a "bold and refreshing blend," making it "the perfect way to fuel up for a day of heroic endeavors."
Interestingly, the shared press release doesn't say the exact flavor of this new drink, but given that it is Fanta I think we can assume it will be sweet, and the coloring indicates that it will potentially be a blend featuring Fanta's Orange Soda.
In addition to the drink, participating White Castle locations will be serving Original Sliders in limited-edition boxes "inspired by the White Castle packaging seen in the Disney+ series." Having not seen Ironheart yet, I cannot say what the packaging looks like, but it sounds like the restaurant will be featured in the show in some manner.
Recently, Subway launched a Happy Gilmore 2 promotion, which makes sense since the titular character is represented by Subway in the movies. I'm assuming we'll see some Marvel characters enjoying sliders on the upcoming series.
Members of White Castle's rewards program will earn $2 off their next mobile order when they purchase the drink any time between June 9 and July 31 (when the offer ends). They also get a limited-edition badge in the app.
To further incentivize customers to try the "Mechanized Mix," White Castle will be donating a portion of sales proceeds to the Girls Who Code nonprofit organization, a group committed to "closing the gender gap in the technology sector." It's a fitting choice for the series Ironheart, which revolves around the genius inventor Riri Williams, a former MIT student embroiled in a battle between technology and magic.
The Disney+ show premieres with the first three of its overall six episodes on June 24 and marks the ending of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Five. Dominique Thorne will reprise her role as the titular character after making her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The series also stars Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, and more.
