According to the Food Network, Iron Chef Gauntlet Season 2 premiere, “Resourcefulness”, features “(s)even aspiring chefs compete for the change to join the ranks of the Iron Chefs.”

This season of Iron Chef Gauntlet is similar to last’s year first season. The second challengers must make it through five episodes to eventually battle three Iron Chefs. If the challenge can post a winning cumulative score against the three Iron Chefs, he will earn the coveted Iron Chef title.

In the first episode, the challengers must tackle resourcefulness. This adjective is a necessary one for an Iron Chef. Often Iron Chefs must use ingredients in creative ways.
