Ready to dine in the stars? Just announced, Disney offers new details on the space-themed Epcot restaurant.

A space-themed Epcot restaurant is coming. Disney just unveiled some new details on the un-named theme park restaurant. According to Disney Parks Blog, the unique restaurant will offer view from “high above Earth.” While the view will come from some Disney creativity, the food should be equally spectacular.

This new restaurant is said to be located in between Mission to Mars and Test Track. While it will be a new space in the theme park, the restaurant has to be built. With no specific launch date, fans will have to watch as the Pixie Dust does its magic at Epcot.

  • While only a few details emerged from this announcement, Disney mentioned that this restaurant “will invite guests to travel to space for an amazing dining experience in the stars.” Of course, ambiance is always important in a restaurant, but will this experience overshadow the food? Given that it is a Disney experience, both aspect should be stellar.

Since this restaurant experience is set in space, I would be curious to know if Disney will have space-themed food. While I don’t expect freeze-dried ice cream or Tang, Disney could be quite creative with this space. Sure, cute names could work, but diners, especially foodies, want more than a play on words.

With NASA and Kennedy Space Center about an hour away from Walt Disney World, could real astronaut food play a role in this restaurant concept? Since astronauts seek bold and spicy flavors in space, maybe the space menu will feature some of those flavor profiles.

This new Disney restaurant will be operated by Patina Restaurant Group. This company runs Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at Epcot and Morimoto Asia and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante at Disney Springs. These restaurants have an authentic feel and yet an approachable menu. It would be logical that this space-themed Epcot restaurant won’t be too out of this world.
