Cookie inspired cocktails make for a festive holiday season

Cookie inspired cocktails are a perfect way to toast the holiday season. While the classic Christmas cookie is a favorite with all ages, adults could prefer a little more punch with their holiday celebration. Luckily, the Fairmont Chicago is using those traditional Christmas cookies as cocktail inspiration. Who’s ready to raise a glass?

THE BAR, located in the Fairmont Chicago, will serve special holiday cocktails that are best enjoyed with a chef-made holiday cookie. The special holiday cocktails include Champagne ‘n Cane,” the “Peppermint Chocolate Martini,” the “Cherry Pomegranate Mojito,” and the “Cranberry Mule.” These cocktails feature many of the popular flavors of the season. Cranberry, pomegranate and peppermint are common in both cocktails and cookies.

Many of these cocktails are approachable twists on year round favorite cocktails. For example, the classic Moscow Mule gets a holiday upgrade from the sweet yet tart cranberry. Also, an iconic champagne gets a refreshing boost from a candy cane. Even these little changes can get everyone into the holiday spirit.

Since the holidays are about enjoying all the holiday treats, these cocktails will be served with chef-made cookies. The cookies include Rosemary Shortbread, Kumquat Macaroons, Chocolate Wafers and Brandy Snap Tuile Cookies and other chef creations. Again, these sweet treats aren’t necessarily the same cookies that you remember as a kid. The flavors are more robust, yet still ring true to the traditional Christmas cookie.

Although holiday cocktails are delightful, some people would rather enjoy an ice cold beer. Columbus Tap, The Fairmont Chicago’s gastropub, will serve local, holiday-centric beers to celebrate the season. Through a partnership with Temperance Brewing Co and Revolution Brewing, some beers on the menu include Temperance Birdsong Saison and Revolution Fistmas. Other holiday beers will be featured as well.

While the kids enjoy a cold glass of milk with their Christmas cookies, adults can indulge with some cookie inspired cocktails. Who’s ready for a happy holiday season?
