Lotus Blossom cotton candy is an Epcot Flower and Garden Festival must
Lotus Blossom cotton candy is Disney’s newest most Instgrammable food. Is this Epcot sweet treat worth the money and wait?
Have you seen Lotus Blossom cotton candy? Many people’s Instagram feeds are starting to show this colorful, intricate sweet confection. Is this sweet treat worth a stop?
During the annual Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, the various marketplaces showcase a delicious, beautiful foods. With a slight nod to the garden, flowers and farms, these tempting treats are scattered throughout the theme park.
One new addition to the annual food festival is the Lotus Blossom cotton candy. Located in China, this sweet treasure is a must stop for food fans. While the treat is just really cotton candy, the intricate design and craftsmanship is amazing.
For the special cotton candy, there are various designs available. From a heart to a five layer lotus blossom, the difference is size and price. For the most impressive version, opt for the five layer. At a cost of $15, it is expensive for cotton candy. Still, it is in line with most Disney food choices.
If the price tag doesn’t grab you, the wait for one of these intricate designs will. There is one gentleman who hand crafts each and every one, to order. On a warm afternoon it seems like forever. In truth, it will take you a while (think 30 minutes) to wait for one of these treats.

The amount of work going into this cotton candy confection is impressive. The “cotton candy artist” sculpts each layer to create the flower. Given the heat and delicate nature of cotton candy it takes some skill.
Recently, I enjoyed the five layer lotus blossom. It is gigantic and definitely a treat to share with friends. For a size comparison, think of a medium watermelon.
Given that the cotton candy is made fresh to order, the flavor and texture is good (and much, much better than bagged theme park varieties). Still, it is a lot of sugar. Also, remember napkins as your hands and face will get quite sticky.
Would I try this treat again? Probably not. It was worth the photo and chance to say that I “had” it. Given all the other delicious food and beverage options at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival, I would rather try some of those sweet treats.
