Buddy vs. Duff finale preview: Who will be crowned King of Cake?

The Buddy vs. Duff finale is here. In this last episode of the season, only one pastry chef will earn the coveted crown and title, King of Cake.

The sixth episode, Buddy vs. Duff finale, could showcase the series most creative confections yet. With the competition tied going into the last two challenges, either Duff Goldman or Buddy Valastro could walk away with bragging rights and the King of Cakes title. Which team has your vote?

According to the Food Network, this week’s episode synopsis states:

"For the finale, pastry chefs Buddy Valastro and Duff Goldman head to the Food Network Kitchen to create their most heartfelt and monumental creations yet — chocolate desserts to conceal engagement rings for two surprise proposals. For the final cake-off, Buddy and Duff create jaw-dropping science- and space-themed cakes for Philadelphia’s prestigious Franklin Institute. Street Science host Kevin Delaney presides over the wild festivities as Buddy and Duff lay it all on the line with their showstopping masterpieces."

For the first challenge, this chocolate competition could be difficult for both bakers. While it would be doubtful that either chef will make some chocolate showpiece, the “hidden” aspect could be quite interesting. While some people might remember that Kit Kat engagement ring item, that chocolate treat took tons of planning, which is something that these two chefs don’t necessarily have.

Also, the ring can’t be baked into a dessert. Nor should be completely encased in chocolate. Who wants to have a pretty engagement ring get all dirty in chocolate and then put it on her finger? It will be interesting to see how creative the dessert becomes.

For the cake-off, it appears that the Buddy vs. Duff finale is going to be huge. With the theme of science and space, it should be a production. While these cakes probably won’t fly, viewers should expect some fireworks.
