Worst Cooks in America, Celebrity Edition is ready to take a trip. In this week’s episode, the recruits travel the globe in flavor exploration.
Time for a flavor journey. This week’s Worst Cooks in America, Celebrity Edition episode has the recruits exploring various global cuisines. From Thai ice cream to paella, these recruits might be wishing for a vacation from the rigors of the cooking competition.
According to the Food Network, this week’s Worst Cooks in America episode, “Around the World in 60 Minutes,” features the following:
"The celebrity recruits are familiar with the finest foods the world has to offer, but now it’s time to make some of them. First, they learn how to make Thai ice cream rolls and must create their own flavor profile. Then they depart for Spain, where chef mentors Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence teach them how to make paella. The two celebrities with the worst dishes must go head-to-head in the blind elimination challenge to determine whose trip will be cut short."
For the first challenge, fans will want to learn how to make Thai ice cream rolls. Those pictures are some of the most Instagram-ed desserts. There is something both enticing and pretty about that frozen treat.
Thinking about ice cream flavors, the recruits need to be creative yet not push the boundaries too far. While a hint of savory can be interesting these desserts need to be balanced. No one wants an ice cream that is too hot to handle.
In the paella challenge, hopefully the recruits can get the rice cooked correctly. One aspect to a great paella is the beautifully cooked rice. From the saffron seasoning to a few crunchy bits from the bottom of the paella pan, this ingredient needs to be handled correctly.
Based on last week’s challenge, Alec seems to be on a roll. He has had two top places. Could this momentum push him to the end?
This week could be Jonathan’s last hurray. He has struggled throughout the competition. Given these challenges, it might be his time to say goodbye.
