Are you excited that Best Baker in America is back. In the Season 3 premiere episode, “Royal Cakes,” these professional bakers will be one step closer to the ultimate crown.

Best Baker in America is back and ready to tempt Food Network fans with some picture perfect, awe inspiring desserts. Is your stomach starting to rumble yet?

According to Food Network, the season premiere episode, “Royal Cakes” synopsis states:

"The competition begins with nine of America’s top professional bakers. Host Scott Conant announced a royal baking theme and challenges the competitors to create perfect mini princess cakes. In the Master Challenge, the bakers have to create a spectacular royal baby celebration cakes for 100 people using elderflower and lemon as the featured flavors. Judges Marcela Valladolid, Jason Smith and Zac Young deliberate, and one baker is eliminated."

Given these bakers’ abilities, the mini princess cakes should be amazing. While the colors will probably be pretty pastels, these cakes will impress on flavor, as well. Given this competition, these bakers will have to be able to deliver on flavor, decoration and creativity.

While the first challenge sets the tone, the Master Challenge looks to be more difficult. Creating a cake that can serve 100 people given the short time frame will take a smart plan. From the bake to the decoration, it will be a lot to accomplish in a short period of time.

Also, the flavors of elderflower and lemon is a lovely choice. While elderflower is a nod to the Royal Wedding from last year, the combination with lemon adds a bright, punch of acid. Still, the balance between those two flavors will be necessary.

While these flavors need to be featured, it will be curious to see what other flavors the cake will feature. This aspect could show the professional bakers’ creativity. Could one of them have a flavor combination that can impress the judges?

In this episode, Zac Young joins Marcela Valladolid and Jason Smith. It will be fun to see the banter between these judges. Lord Honey, what fun quip of the phrase will come out of this Best Baker in America episode.
