Earlier this week, Guy Fieri received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. How many other chefs have a star on the infamous Hollywood landmark?
Walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame can be a celebration of pop culture. From movie stars to musicians and a myriad of other celebrities, the iconic star cemented into the sidewalk is a symbol that a person has made it. Today, Guy Fieri joined the long list of celebrity enshrined in this honor. Are there other chefs amongst the ranks?
Celebrity chefs seem to be everywhere. From food television shows to famous restaurants, chefs have become like rock stars. Who hasn’t gushed a little when they have seen Gordon Ramsay in person or jumped for joy when Jose Andres released his new cookbook?
In today’s pop culture world, chefs are high powered celebrities. People line up to make reservations at those celebrity chef restaurants, they purchase the chef endorsed cookware and they try to re-create those delicious recipes at home. So why aren’t more chefs represented on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Fieri became the third chef to receive a star. He joins Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck with this honor. Given the popularity of celebrity chefs, what other chefs could or should join the ranks.

One obvious choice is Gordon Ramsay. With a successful restaurant empire and television career, Ramsay definitely deserves a spot on Hollywood Boulevard. While his demanding persona in the television kitchen drives viewers, his dedication to his family and willingness to help his restaurant family is deserving of an honor.
Another popular choice would be Jose Andres. While he doesn’t have a huge television presence, his humanitarian efforts are worthy of every honor. Granted, he has numerous accolades, but he could also have a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
Rachel Ray would be another popular choice. She grew from Food Network personality to a huge brand. From the classic 30 Minute Meals to her popular cookware line, Rachel Ray does it all.
What chef do you think deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Do you think chefs are the new rock stars?
