MasterChef Season 10 is here. In this week’s Season Premiere, thirty-six home cooks dream of earning the covered title but who will make the cut?

The kitchen is open. MasterChef Season 10 Season Premiere is back on FOX. The epic cooking competition seeks to turn some of the best home cooks into one of the best cooks in the nation. Which home cooks deserve a spot in front of Gordon Ramsay, Aaron Sanchez and Joe Bastianich.

According to FOX, the Season Premiere episode features the following:

"Thirty-six of America’s finest home cooks enter the MasterChef kitchen in hopes of making it into the Top 20. After a few surprise visitors greet the eager contestants and the cooks learn they will participate in audition rounds, undergoing evaluation from the judges. Only the best of the best will earn an apron and move forward in the competition. A special twist called the “Judges’ Pass” will prove to be extremely valuable to one lucky individual. Find out who makes it to the next round in the all-new “Season Premiere” season premiere episode of MasterChef."

According to pictures, it appears that former MasterChef winners return. While these former home cooks can serve as inspiration, the pressure is high. While anyone can create a picture perfect meal in her own kitchen, cooking in front of some of the most discerning palates would be completely nerve racking.

The twist of the Judges’ Pass sounds quite intriguing. Most likely it will take a very talented home cook and a creative dish to earn this honor. How that pass will affect the rest of the competition remains to be seen. Could it work like last season’s Hell’s Kitchen punishment pass? It will have to be more than just a pass into the main round.

During these early rounds, it is difficult to determine which home cooks really have the cooking talent based on just one dish. Again, a signature dish can be perfection but it can be limiting. What if a person can only cook chicken or she doesn’t know how to break down a fish?

To earn the title MasterChef, these home cooks need to have all the tools in their knife roll. Will you be able to determine a front runner in the first episode?
