The king of monsters has returned to theaters, bringing with him some old friends to fight off his most powerful foes. To celebrate the return of the king, Johnny Rockets has released new Godzilla inspired menu items to curb your monstrous appetite!

This past weekend Godzilla: King of Monsters opened in theaters nationwide. The movie will no doubt bring new monster fans into the world of Godzilla, but even more importantly, it’s brought new menu items to Johnny Rockets, the popular 50s diner-style restaurant!

The items includes the Avocado Bacon Ranch Burger, the Avocado Chicken Salad, the Avocado Totchos, the Strawberry Chocolate Swirl, and the Chocolate Coco Chill milkshakes. There just happened to be a Johnny Rockets right outside the theater I went too yesterday, so I splurged on the Strawberry Chocolate Swirl shake.

Johnny Rockets generally makes solid milkshakes, and the Strawberry Chocolate Swirl was no exception. It is a little on the sweet side, but the chocolate sauce actually helps cut the sweetness down when you get a bit of it. The ice cream is also blended with real strawberries, which can be an issue if you’re using a straw.

The whipped cream was a nice touch, but I can’t really place why they would do a strawberry milkshake in honor of Godzilla. But then again, maybe Godzilla likes strawberry milkshakes, and really who am I to judge. The shake was a little over $5, so you won’t be breaking the bank with this summertime treat.

The rest of the menu looks pretty good, but I’ll seriously eat anything with avocado in it. If you’re heading out to see the new Godzilla, make sure to take a stop by Johnny Rockets for a meal fit for the king of monsters.
