Best Universal Orlando’s Ice Cream Treats: Which one should you eat first?

facebooktwitterreddit

After Butterbeer, Universal Orlando’s ice cream treats are some of the most tempting, tastiest, sweet treats around. Which one will you eat first?

On a warm, Florida day, there is nothing more satisfying that ice cream. Universal Orlando’s ice cream treats are more than just ice cream on a cone. These frozen delights are outrageous, over the top and completely worth every single category.

Part of the fun of going to any theme park is indulging in all the theme park foods. At Universal Orlando, there are so many delicious food options that you might need a pair of stretchy pants after your vacation.

Since visiting a theme park is a special occasion (even for all those annual passholders and Orlando locals), ice cream is often a favorite sweet treat. Although everyone has a flavor preference, FoodSided happily explored the many ice cream options both inside the theme parks and in City Walk. After much research, here are Universal Orlando’s best ice cream treats.

Butterbeer ice cream

Normally people ask frozen or not frozen when it comes to Butterbeer. But on a super hot day, Butterbeer ice cream is the most delicious treat and no straw is required.

The creaminess of this ice cream is quite good and the flavor is all Butterbeer. If you are looking for a different twist on the Harry Potter classic, this ice cream is a great choice.

Florean Fortescue’s Ice -Cream Parlour in Diagon Alley

If the Butterbeer ice cream doesn’t tempt you, the other amazing flavors at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour will. Don’t expect some boring flavors here. Some of these ice creams have more elevated flavors, but the non-foodie shouldn’t shy away from them.

From Earl Grey and Lavender to Chocolate Chili, these ice creams add a little magic to your ice cream experience. Personally, our top choices are the Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Salted Caramel Blondie. If you visit with a friend, we suggest getting both flavors and sharing.

Waturi Fusion at Volcano Bay

While the cool waters at Volcano Bay offer a respite on a hot day, the Waturi Fusion is the ice cream treat that is both picture perfect and amazingly tasty.

The ice cream blends the four flavors, banana, blue raspberry, orange and strawberry. We recommend getting this ice cream in a cup so that you can enjoy both the flavors combined and separately.

Sundaes at Toothsome

If you are with a friend or a group, the sundaes at Toothsome are definitely an over the top ice cream experience. With a variety of flavors, each one is more tempting than the next. But, eating one by yourself can be daunting.

These sundaes are definitely over the top. Our top choices are the May Contain Nuts and Brookies, Cookies & Cream. To be clear, we are a sucker for a brookie (brownie cookie). That particular sundae is the ultimate cookies and ice cream indulgence.

For the peanut butter fan, the May Contain Nuts is a must order. From peanut butter ice cream to Reese’s peanut butter cups to the chocolate peanut butter pie, it is peanut butter-tastic.

Milkshakes at Cowfish

After eating a plate of burgerushi, the perfect end to the meal is a milkshake from Cowfish. These shakes are creamy, smooth and huge.

For the adults, Cowfish offers some spiked milkshakes that are a must try and make for a perfect dessert. There are several options on the menu, but we recommend Stick in the Mud.

In Stick in the Mud, the whiskey with the vanilla ice cream is perfection. Plus, the pretzel and caramel drizzle add the right touch of salty and sweet. Just remember, that milkshake has a little extra in it. Remember to sip responsibly.

Brain Freezin’ Doh-nut Sundae at Lard Lad Donuts

While some people might make a stop at the Duff Beer Garden, don’t overlook the sundae at Lard Lad Donuts. The Brain Freezin’ Doh-nut Sundae takes Homer’s favorite treat, the pink-frosted donut, and tops it with your choice of ice cream. Then, the whole dish is smothering with more toppings, like hot fudge, Oreo cookies and Reese’s Pieces. Chief Wiggum definitely approves.

No Melt Ice cream

Florida temperatures can be brutal, especially when it comes to Universal Orlando’s ice cream treats melting too quickly. At both Honeydukes in Hogsmeade and Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley, you can enjoy some no melt ice cream. With a little Harry Potter magic, this sweet treat delivers on flavor. Think of this treat like the best part of a cupcake, no cake required.

Toothsome milkshakes

Probably one of the most photographed desserts at Universal Orlando is the Toothsome milkshakes. While the flavors have changed over the years, the outrageous factor compels everyone to try these ice cream treats at least once.

These milkshakes are more than just ice cream. Each one is topped with an additional treat. From a piece of cake to big cookies, it is like multiple desserts in one. Plus, you get to take the mason jar home as a souvenir.

Universal Orlando’s ice cream treats are always a delicious option to make your visit to even sweeter. Just remember, Universal has numerous tasty options all around the theme parks and City Walk. From the new Bigfire to the Today Café to the Harry Potter themed restaurants, there is an option to satisfy every craving.
