Worst Cooks in America Season 17 episode 3 preview: Summer Catch. Summer Heat
In this week’s Worst Cooks in America episode, the recruits might want some summer fun but this challenge isn’t just about a sweet treat.
Ready for another Worst Cooks in America episode? Although some of the recruits are still struggling, little by little, they are gaining some cooking skill. While other viewers might be enjoying the last days of summer vacation, this week’s episode may not be summer fun for the recruits.
According to Food Network, this episode, “Summer Catch. Summer Heat” states:
"The recruits enter boot camp prepared for summer fun. They begin by taking a taste bud challenge where they must identify ice cream flavored withspicy peppers. Next chefs, Anne Burrell and Bobby Flay ask the recruits to create their own pretzel and dipping sauce that incorporates both sweet and spicy flavors. For the main dish challenge, the recruits must filet a whole fish and create a side dish with a kick. The two recruits that sink will be sent home!"
First, for the ice cream challenge, the recruits need to think simple. It isn’t about the craziest combination, it is about flavor balance. Sweet and heat is quite tasty when a cook gets it right.
As for the second challenge, it could be a comedy of errors when the recruits try to break down a fish. If they listen to Bobby and Anne, this challenge is doable. Following direction and understanding the process will help the better recruits rise to the top.
Truthfully, the fish challenge is great for the home cook. In some ways, learning to filet a fish can make a huge difference in how a person cooks fish. It is all about gaining a better understanding of the ingredients.
