Kids Baking Championship Season 7 episode 3 preview: Is that a doughnut?
These bakers might be young, but Kids Baking Championship is definitely a huge undertaking. Can these young bakers think big in this week’s challenge?
Kids Baking Championship is far from child’s play. This Food Network show impresses week after week. For this challenge, the young bakers must channel their creativity.
According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “I Doughnut Know What to Think!” features the following:
"Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman ask the seven young bakers to make a giant doughnut cake. Using Bundt cake pans, the bakers make a cake in an assigned flavor like strawberry or maple and then decorate it to look like an oversized doughnut."
This baking concept is quite interesting. Creating a cake from scratch is a great starting point for any aspiring baker. If a person can master the flavor and crumb of a cake, she can build from that skill.
Many accomplished cake bakers are pushing the boundaries of the regular cake. While the tiered cake is always lovely, a cake decorated to look like something else is whimsical. After all shouldn’t baking be fun?
While this Food Network show is a baking competition, it is a great reminder to the older baker that she should never lose the fun in baking. Sure, everyone wants the perfectly executed cake, there is more than just that final product.
Watching these kids bake is a great reminder to be fearless in the kitchen. Mistakes can happen.
Sometimes the final product isn’t Instagram perfect. But, the experience can make anything taste better. Next time when that cake falls, don’t be so hard on yourself.
