Looking to impress with your Christmas cookies? Christmas Cookie Challenge could have you being the baker to beat at your annual holiday cookie exchange. What will these amazing bakers create this season on the Food Network?
According to the Food Network, this week’s Christmas Cookie Challenge episode features the following synopsis:
"Eddie Jackson cherishes homemade gifts that come from the heart, so he asks five of the top cookie makers to create cookies that look like handcrafted gifts. Judges Matt Adlard, Ree Drummond and Brandi Milloy pick their favorite homespun creation. Then the competitors have to create complex cookie garlands worthy of stringing up in front of the fireplace, and they fire up their cookies with smoky ingredients like paprika, smoked almonds, Gouda and scotch. When the smoke clears, one cookie maker is left standing with the $10,000 prize."
Looking at the first challenge, the idea of a cookie looking like a gift seems rathe straightforward. Given the talent of these bakers, they could be able to handle this challenge easily.
The bigger question will be whether bakers can make something super creative. In some ways, these challenges are as much about creativity as they are about taste.
The second challenge of cookie garlands with smoky ingredients sounds quite interesting. While garland will be visually impressive, the flavors could inspire cookie bakers everywhere. Can you imagine how a scotch flavored cookie would taste?
