Super Bowl 54: Pizza Hut ready for the big game

As the official pizza sponsor of the NFL, Pizza Hut is going all out when it comes to Super Bowl 54.

As the official pizza sponsor of the NFL, Pizza Hut is putting on a full-out blitz when it comes to prepping for Super Bowl 54. This year’s big game is looking to innovative in many aspects.  Super Bowl LIV, which will be the first to use souvenir cups made of aluminum, is going to be the biggest, best celebration of the 100 years of the NFL.

Last year the company delivered more than 1.5 million pizzas on the big day, 70 percent within half an hour or less, and aim to beat both marks this year. Those 1.5 million pizzas would be large enough to cover 41,000 football fields, and contained a total of more than 30 tons of cheese.

Over the course of Super Bowl weekend, Pizza Hut will hand out close to 30,000 slices of free pizza throughout the Miami area, delivering free pizza through iconic Miami landmarks like Little Havana or the University of Miami campus.

This delivery will be accomplished through the Pizza Hut Delivery Fleet, which includes a variety of branded vehicles ranging from Ford F-250 pickups to bicycles and mopeds.

“We know our fans take football seriously, so all season long we’ve been laser focused on a hot, fast and reliable customer experience on gamedays,” Nicolas Burquier, Pizza Hut chief customer and operations officer, said in a press release. “Regardless of where our fans are experiencing Super Bowl LIV, we have our teams preparing nationwide to make sure the biggest day in football goes off without a hitch.”

In support of their long-running BOOK IT! children’s literacy program, Pizza Hut will also be donating $54,000 to local educators throughout the area.

For the fans at home across the country, the company will be the presenting sponsor of the NFL Honors special, which will award various accolades on players, including the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award and the Most Valuable Player Award. That special will air on Fox on Saturday, February 1 at 8 p.m. ET.

The Meat Lover’s pizza will be available for only $10 (30 percent off) on Super Bowl Sunday, featuring over a pound of delicious sausage, pepperoni, and melty cheese. This could be a good option for the watch party.

Pizza Hut is also teaming up with Yahoo Fantasy Sports, so players can have a chance to score some cash as well.
