Doritos brings in Lil Nas X and Sam Elliott for chilling Super Bowl ad teasers

Doritos is about to release a Super Bowl commercial so big, it had to recruit Sam Elliott and Lil Nas X.

Did you know Doritos is revving up to release its new Cool Ranch flavor — packed with even more Cool Ranch seasoning than ever before?

If you didn’t, you will soon thanks to Doritos’ upcoming Super Bowl ad.

It’s no surprise that Doritos is one of dozens of large companies planning unforgettable ads to air this February. Doritos in particular has become a Super Bowl staple — always with its fans at the center of it all.

This year, the company is taking after the entertainment industry, slowly building the hype in the weeks leading up to the big game. They have now released two “teasers” allowing fans to guess what the full ad might look like. The most recent features none other than Lil Nas X.

This may or may not be able to compare to legend Sam Elliott’s teaser, in which he recites the lyrics of “Old Town Road” with such practiced intimidation that we can’t help but worry for Lil Nas X’s safety.

Since you’ve heard the song at least several hundred times by now, Elliott’s monologue is just about as chilling as the Doritos he’s advertising.

This will be the first time Cool Ranch gets to be the star of a Doritos Super Bowl commercial, and it’s definitely not messing around. Can you blame it? It is, after all, the best flavor Doritos has to offer.

If you’re not prepared to fight the urge to purchase as many bags of Cool Ranch Doritos as soon as the ad airs, you should probably leave some extra room in your pantry to accommodate the extra snacks.

Doritos will air its celeb-packed ad during Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, February 2.
