Strolling through the Epcot Festival of the Arts Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, the eyes and palate celebrate the vibrant colors and flavors of these creative dishes.

The old saying, eat with your eyes, epitomizes the experience at Epcot Festival of the Arts Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. While the artistic expressions fill the Disney Park, these specially curated dishes celebrate the vibrancy of food. From creative plating to dynamic color, these dishes prove that food can be art.

Sometimes a particular dish sparks an interest based on the visual, not just the flavor description. It could be the bold color, the intriguing technique or just something creative that makes a person crave a bite. The Epcot Festival of the Arts Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine is that food journey.

New the Disney Parks Epcot festival, this stroll through the various marketplaces entices guests to take a flavor and visual journey through several dishes. If the concept sounds familiar, it is similar to the Festival of the Holidays cookie stroll.

Some people will want to enjoy this food stroll because there is a prize at the end. Upon completing (I.e. eating) all the colorful dishes, guests do get a special “completion prize.” Can anyone really pass up free Disney food?

For foodies, this new Epcot Festival of the Arts food experience is really about the creativity behind the colorful dishes. From creative plating to pushing the envelope on flavor experiences, these dishes are more than just brightly colored cookies. In a way, sometimes the eye plays tricks on the flavor experience.

Included on the Epcot Festival of the Arts Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine are the following five dishes: Deconstructed BLT, Almond Frangipane cake, Seared Corvina, Pan Seared Scallop and Vanilla, Rose Water Pistachio Panna Cotta (plus the completion treat).

These five dishes show celebrate a colorful palate of food. From the flavors in each dish to the colors in each dish, it is a lovely way to celebrate the culinary arts.

A few of the dishes have been around since the start of the Festival of the Arts several seasons ago. The Almond Frangipane Cake has been a favorite. The multi-colored cake, referencing modern art, has always been a favorite.

The same is said for the Pan Seared Scallop. There is nothing better than a beautifully cooked scallop with a parmesan crisp. While not as colorfully bold as the cake, this dish celebrates the contrast in textures.

For many people, the Deconstructed BLT is always a must try bite. The combination of luscious pork belly with a perfectly runny egg is always satisfying. In a way, this dish allows everyone to have their own artistic expression because it allows for creative eating.

The Seared Corvina is probably the most subtle dish that slightly surprises. The delicate fish on the bed of robust vegetables proves that classics are always in style.

Lastly, and probably the most photographed dish, the Vanilla, Rose Water, Pistachio Panna Cotta is visually stunning. Just looking at the dessert brings the ingredients to life. While the dessert is slightly sweet, the pistachio crumb and touch of bright jam make this dessert delicious. Although it is a shame to have to destroy that delicate pink rose to enjoy the treat.

Overall, Epcot Festival of the Arts Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine is a lovely way to explore a variety of foods during the Disney Parks food festival. So not to ruin the surprise, FoodSided will not reveal the completion treat. It is a fun bite, but it would have been exciting to have a bite that could have pushed the culinary creativity a little more.

Given that this food festival is about food as art, it would be nice to see Disney Parks try some more food options outside of the box. Maybe next year, the chefs can try a dish with some flavor tripping.

Epcot Festival of the Arts runs now through February 24, 2020. In addition to the food marketplaces, there is a Disney on Broadway concert series, new movies, artists and artisans and a variety of other events throughout the theme park. The event is included with theme park admission.
