Chocolate Easter Bunnies are a holiday tradition, but could use some innovation to shake things up. Enter a classic cereal and you have the Froot Loops Easter Bunny.

Now, a Froot Loops Easter Bunny does sound like a mega dose of sugar overload, but also seems like the latest clever innovation in the world of confectionery.

This Easter candy news was first covered by Delish. Why not bring a new twist to that classic Easter basket.

A first look at the Froot Loops Easter Bunny, which is made by Franklin Foods and uses white chocolate, comes from an Instagram account called @CerealLife.

While Froot Loops have been made into cakes and other desserts, this twist on the classic chocolate bunny could make for a tasty Easter celebration.

White chocolate is much lighter than milk chocolate or dark chocolate, and given that Froot Loops are one of the denser types of cereal, it seems like this texture combination could work well. Not sure how the double whammy of the sweetness would fly, but in any case it’s an intriguing premise for a snack.

The trouble with chocolate Easter Bunnies is that the milk chocolate tends to be on the bitter and grainy side, which doesn’t seem to be a problem in this case.

While not technically considered chocolate due to lacking cocoa solids, your dog shouldn’t steal any due to the high sugar content (this happened repeatedly with my childhood Beagle Sunny). However, as our friends at FanSided Network sister site Dog O’Day point out, white chocolate is probably not that harmful if Bella does swipe a chomp or two.

Delish reports that they’ve been spotted at Big Lots locations selling for around $1 each, though it’s likely that the treat will spread to more grocery stores and other places once the Valentine’s Day rush is over.
