If Taco Bell fans didn’t think that the Chalupa could get better, it has with the Triplelupa. This menu innovation will have you running to get one.
Taco Bell says why have one, when you can have three. The Triplelupa reinvents the fan favorite Chalupa. This newest menu innovation will have everyone wanting to tear into one. Are you excited yet?
Available starting on March 12, the Triplelupa combines three mini Chalupas into one super long shell. The menu item will feature three flavors, Nacho Cheese, Chipotle and Cheesy Chipotle.
While this triple-Chulupa is going to be tasty, it is a big menu innovation for Taco Bell. It is the brand’s first tear-apart menu item. This option allows the guest to choose their own adventure while eating it. For example, just because the three flavors come in a particular order doesn’t mean that everyone has to eat them in that order. The tear apart aspect allows that.
“At Taco Bell, we recognize and love the fandom that the Chalupa has cultivated over the years, and it’s why we want to bring our fans an all-new flavor and shell experience with the Triplelupa,” said Kristine Futalan, Associate Manager of Research & Development at Taco Bell and lead product developer behind the Tripelupa.
By bringing more innovation to the Chalupa, Taco Bell has chosen to highlight one of its fan favorite menu items. Introduced in 1999, the Chalupa has been the most reinvented Taco Bell menu of all time. Whether it was the Baja Chalupa or the most recent Toasted Cheddar Chalupa, this menu item and its innovations keeps bringing fans back for more.
While the food brings Taco Bell fans back for more, the brand understands that it needs to incorporate pop culture trends into a product launch. To celebrate the new Triplelupa, Taco Bell has partnered with Tik Tok. It is “the first time TikTok has partnered with a brand on a national advertising campaign.”
Over the years, Taco Bell has pushed its pop culture connections to strengthen its fandom. From a Taco Bell Hotel to innovative product campaigns, the brand understands that the fan connection is just as important as the food innovation. This latest partnership captures the importance of staying current and connected.
Still, Taco Bell fans are most concerned about the food. The new Triplelupa will definitely get people running to their closest restaurant to try the newest Chalupa innovation.
