The St. Patrick’s Day spirit is strong. Guinness and Jameson Irish Whiskey have found a way to share some positive in these difficult times.

A St. Patrick’s Day celebration does not need a pub crawl, crowded bar or other huge gathering. While many people mark the holiday with a pint of Guinness or a glass of Jameson Irish Whiskey, those moments look a little different this year. Why not raise that glass at home and share a little kindness in the process.

Usually the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations bring people together to enjoy a moment together. In these times, a virtual gathering can work, too. Why not set up a Zoom, Facetime or other virtual event. Through technology, people can still interact. It is a virtual Slainte!

The Irish spirit that is celebrated during St. Patrick’s Day is about resilience and supporting one another. Guinness, in a video released last week, captures that idea. That 900 year lease is not going anywhere.

Take a moment to watch this video.

As seen in the video, Guinness has committed “$500,000 through our Guinness Gives Back Fund to help communities where we live, work and celebrate.” Since everyone is in this together, it is time to focus on how everyone can lift each other up.

Jameson Irish Whiskey has committed to helping people who are often at the center of a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. In keeping the spirit of the holiday alive, Jameson made a big announcement on its Instagram page.

Jameson has pledged “$500,000 to support the charity of the United States Bartenders’ Guild.” As everyone can appreciate, the service industry is facing a very difficult road ahead.

While not everyone has that “Norm/Cheers” moment, the neighborhood bartender is often a welcome sight. Jameson understand that those bartenders have stood with them throughout the years. By supporting the United States Bartenders’ Guild, the hope is to provide those in need with support. Applications for this fund can be found here.

Additionally, “Jameson will match your donations up to an additional $100,000 until March 31, 2020.” If you are inclined to donate, please visit the following website.

This year, it is a time to celebrate a Virtual Sláinte. Raise a glass, send a positive note or share a kind word. St. Patrick’s Day is more than just a parade, a pub crawl or just night out. Put the focus back on being kind, being resilient and supporting each other.
