Tyler Florence and these seven food trucks are rolling on The Great Food Truck Race Season 12. Who’s ready for the first food fight of the season?

The Great Food Truck Race has been a favorite with Food Network fans. With The Great Food Truck Race Season 12 set to premiere tonight, foodies will have food TV to keep them occupied. Which new food truck team will walk away with the title and big prize?

According to the Food Network, The Great Food Truck Race Season 12 premiere features the following:

"Tyler Florence kicks off the race in Los Angeles, the food truck capital of the world. Seven teams of food truck owners are challenged to make and sell luxe versions of traditional food truck fare. From private plane hors d’oeuvres to champagne-infused main dishes, the teams have to elevate their skills to the next level to win a shot at the $50,000 prize."

At the end of last year, Food Network fans saw that this new season was traveling around California Gold Coast with a stop in Las Vegas, too. Over six episodes, these food trucks will battle over a series of challenges. From innovative challenges to a “protein roulette,” these food truck teams better be creative and execute.

Looking at the first episode, the champagne-infused main dishes will be difficult. Cooking with champagne takes a subtle hand. Just serving a frozen dessert will not cut it.

More importantly, it can be difficult to get the flavor of champagne into a dish. The delicate sparkling wine can be overwhelmed by other flavors. It will be interesting to see how these food trucks implement the challenge.

Lastly, food trucks have come a long way, but a champagne infused dish may not be common. Even though Los Angeles is the food truck capital of the world, these food truck teams may not have expected this twist.

There are seven teams competing in The Great Food Truck Race Season 12. They are: “Team Bachelor Kitchen (Austin, Texas); Team Crystal’s Comfort Food (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania); Team Eat My Crust (Phoenix, Arizona); Team Fat Kid (Virginia Beach, Virginia); Team Lunch Ladies (Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts); Team Mystikka Masala (Dallas, Texas); Team Super Sope (Turlock, California).”

Looking at this list of teams, it is hard to give anyone an advantage or disadvantage. At the same time, it will be interesting to see how a pizza food truck handles a champagne-infused dish. While champagne and pizza can be tasty, it isn’t a common pairing.
