The Great Food Truck Race Season 12 episode 2 preview: Hustle in the Heat
The food trucks are rolling again on The Great Food Truck Race. Will the heat be too much for these teams or will they start to find their stride?
The Great Food Truck Race is back and the competition is getting heated, literally. With the high life of LA in the rear view mirror, Palm Springs could be a welcome oasis. Which teams will tackle this week’s challenges and who will have to turn in their keys?
According to Food Network, this week’s episode, “Hustle in the Heat” features the following:
"Things are getting hot in Palm Springs, Calif., where the food truck teams have to conquer the extreme heat as well as their fears to tackle an unprecedented aerial challenge from Tyler Florence. A mystery ingredient enhances all the teams’ dishes, and the locals show the trucks big love. After two days of selling, however, one food truck will have to shut its doors forever."
Looking at the synopsis, an aerial challenge seems quite unusual. While Food Network shows are always looking for new ways to entertain, this challenge could be one of the most extreme stunts. Did any chef really sign up for such a challenge?
As for the mystery ingredient, it could be a locally sourced produce. The area is abundant with farms. Could some citrus be on the menu?
After the first episode, it is hard to determine a clear favorite. While the Lunch Ladies won the week, the bigger issue was Bachelor Kitchen’s challenge strategy. While focusing on just the immunity challenge paid off, they were the worst selling team. More importantly, their food truck was a mess. That choice should have gotten their keys taken away.
