The Great Food Truck Race Season 12 episode 3 preview: Ready to fly?
The pressure is getting heated on The Great Food Truck Race. With one food truck team is down a member, this week’s episode isn’t going to be easy.
In the Gold Coast season of The Great Food Truck Race, the food trucks are starting to find their groove. While Bachelor Kitchen lost a member, that food truck seems to find a way to survive. Will they squeak by in again this week?
According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “Hustle in the Heat” features the following:
"Things are getting hot in Palm Springs, Calif., where the food truck teams have to conquer the extreme heat as well as their fears to tackle an unprecedented aerial challenge from Tyler Florence. A mystery ingredient enhances all the teams’ dishes, and the locals show the trucks big love. After two days of selling, however, one food truck will have to shut its doors forever."
Cooking in the heat is a challenge. The food trucks should consider the elements when planning their menus. Guests will want something light, refreshing. Could Super Sope do an aqua fresca? A combo meal with a refreshing drink could be a great idea.
In the first two episodes, the challenges have had a huge impact on the competition. From the first week’s immunity for Bachelor Kitchen to Team Fat Kid’s huge comeback, the challenges are impacting which team goes home.
Hopefully, this week’s mystery ingredient challenge is a taste challenge. That challenge usually gives an advantage to the better cooks, not the game players.
When the challenge focuses on sales, it is more of a business challenge. From only selling the “special” to renaming the special to something with a broad appeal (aka seafood versus octopus), it becomes a game. Sometimes it is better to focus on the food.
