Can an Iron Chef crack the whip in the Worst Cooks in America kitchen? Alex Guarnaschelli joins Anne Burrell on the new season of Worst Cooks.

Although she has tackled many cooking challenges, Alex Guarnaschelli has a new kitchen battle in her future. On the new season of Worst Cooks in America, she joins Anne Burrell in the Food Network worst cooks kitchen. Can these two formidable chefs make decent cooks out of these kitchen disasters?

Debuting on Sunday, June 21, a new batch of recruits head into the Worst Cooks kitchen. While Anne might have plenty of experience with these kitchen nightmares, Alex is in for a new experience. If she thought the ingredient and flavor combinations in Supermarket Stakeout were questionable, the dishes from these recruits will definitely get some cutting commentary.

After Alton Brown took a turn in the Worst Cooks mentoring role, Food Network fans were curious if he would return. Although Alton’s dismay expressed what most viewers think, the comments were sometimes too real for some people. Still, his brand of commentary brought some new life to the classic Worst Cooks series.

With Alex joining Anne in the kitchen, it will be interesting to see how much tough love both chefs bestow on these recruits. Although Anne has her signature red finger for poor knife skills, Alex could have her own way of teaching these aspiring cooks?

Although Food Network fans will have to wait till June to see all these cooking creations, the premiere episode could be a nightmare come to life. The synopsis states that the recruits will have to recreate their favorite childhood dish.

In some ways, a childhood dish could be a great baseline challenge. Although a peanut butter and jelly sandwich might not be the best option, these cooks should be able to make some mac and cheese (hopefully).

Food Network said that some of the fun antics in the new Worst Cooks season include a donut eating contest, sushi rolling and revisiting past disasters. Overall, it should be another entertaining season of questionable culinary talents.

The new season of Worst Cooks in America featuring Alex Guarnaschelli and Anne Burrell premieres on Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET. There will be a total of seven episodes with a finale on August 2.
