Bakeaway Camp gets a little stormy.

In the next Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart, the bakers rise and shine for another fun filled baking challenge. While summer fun might be on the agenda, a few rainstorms look to dampen all the festivities.

According to the Food Network, this week’s Bakeaway with Martha Stewart features the following:

"The four remaining campers are up bright and early for a breakfast-themed challenge from host Jesse Palmer. They must make an elevated breakfast treat using foraged ingredients like lavender, rosemary, lemon, honey and pine nuts. With guidance from camp counselors Carla Hall and Dan Langan, the campers vie to make a breakfast of champions and secure the final one-on-one mentoring session with Camp Director Martha Stewart. Then Jesse tasks the bakers with making a woodland-inspired decorated dessert. While the campers battle it out on a hot and humid summer day, a sudden storm drenches the kitchen. Martha and the counselors decide which camper got washed out and which campers persevered to move one step closer to the grand prize."

A breakfast challenge could be quite interesting. Breakfast needs subtle flavor that can jumpstart the day without being too jolting. While not necessarily boring, these flavors need to awaken the palate.

The most interesting part of this challenge is the foraging aspect. While some chefs are touting foraged ingredients, the normal cook isn’t sourcing her own food. Still, the idea of foraged ingredients is quite interesting.

Fresh ingredients always have a bigger, bolder flavor. Just like the fruits and vegetables from a local farmer taste better, fresh herbs are more flavorful.

Still, the bakers need to use these ingredients carefully. For example, no one wants a lavender dish that is overpowering. A subtle lavender flavor is lovely but too much lavender tastes like eating potpourri.

Throughout Bakeaway Camp, the bakers have dealt with the elements. This aspect to the Food Network show is the most challenging. From the hot temperatures to the bees, the elements are more difficult than the challenges themselves.

Having to cook in a storm is extremely difficult. Beyond the fact that rain could be everywhere, humidity could ruin a dessert. Anyone who can survive this challenge is worthy of winning the ultimate title.
