Do you love to break off a piece of a KitKat bar? Which Kit Kit flavors are your favorite?

The words of that classic KitKat bar jingle can make anyone want some candy. Recently, new Kit Kat flavors have been joining that traditional candy bar. Which begs the question, which flavor of Kit Kat is the best one to break into?

A KitKat bar is basically a wafer candy bar that has been covered in chocolate. The bar usually has four “fingers” that are broken off and eaten. While a few people might eat the candy bar in a non-traditional way (remember the bad boyfriend incident), most people snap off a piece/finger and eat it.

As one of Hershey’s top five candy brands, Kit Kats are a staple. Whether people think of the “Have a break” reference or just like the combination of flavors and textures, the candy is always a popular choice.

Over the years, people have created copycat recipes and incorporated the candy into other desserts. It would be hard pressed to find someone who hasn’t had a Kit Kat at least once.

While the traditional, original Kit Kat flavor is the most widely known, Japan has produced around 200 different flavors. Since the name tends to translate to “surely win,” many people think that this candy is good luck. Japanese flavors have varied from traditional, like crème brulee and banana, to unusual, like soy sauce and sake.

In the past year, the U.S. consumer has seen more Kit Kat flavors on store shelves. From some limited-edition flavors to permanent ones, it seems that breaking into that Kit Kat bar is getting a flavor makeover.
