As Disney Parks reopen, foodies will get just a taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival this year.

For many foodies and theme park fans, Epcot is about food and beverage experience. This year, the Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will replace the traditional annual food festival.

Starting on July 15, the official Epcot reopening date, the new version of the food festival will begin. According to the Disney Parks blog, this modified food festival will be the longest celebration ever. Although the festival offerings might be a little different, foodies will want to sample all the special dishes.

Similar to previous celebrations, there will be 20 global marketplaces spaced throughout Epcot. Disney revealed that popular marketplaces like Hawaii, Hops & Barley and Islands of the Caribbean will be available. Although the exact dishes have not be shared, many foodies will hope that the Hawaiian Spam Hash makes another return. If you haven’t tried it, you definitely should.

In addition to the food offerings, Remy from Ratatouille will be featured at the start of the festival. The special Remy topiary that was revealed during the Flower & Garden festival will be on display in front of the France pavilion.

Additionally, the Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak scavenger hunt is back. Who doesn’t enjoy trying to find Remy and his cheese hiding in interesting places all around Epcot?

While many of the popular offerings have returned, the Eat to the Beat concert series will not happen. Instead of the large concerts, other smaller musical performances will be held at the American Gardens Theater.

Since this Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival looks to last well into the fall, there is plenty of time to enjoy all the festival food and activities. As more details are revealed it will be interesting to see how Disney handles ordering at the kiosks, table areas and other items. Most likely Disney will be quite diligent with all the aspects of this event.

The Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will begin on July 15. The food festival is included in the cost of theme park admission. Check with Disney Parks on how to reserve a ticket for park admission.
