The Worst Cooks in America prepare to play some culinary games.

After surviving the first week, the Worst Cooks in America step back into the Food Network kitchen and hope to score a culinary victory. While these aspiring cooks wish for some cooking redemption, only hard work will earn them another week in bootcamp.

According to the Food Network, this week’s Worst Cooks in America episode, “Culinary Games,” features the following:

"The recruits participate in the first annual Boot Camp Culinary Games and compete in culinary-related events, from whipping cream to stomping tomatoes. Then, Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Alex Guarnaschelli teach them how to roll sushi for their skill-drill challenge and make traditional Japanese bento boxes for the main dish challenge. The bottom recruit on each team will say “sayonara” to boot camp."

For the first challenge, these games should be quite amusing. Although those stomped tomatoes might never be used in a recipe, it should give the recruits some insight into the kitchen. Sometimes working as a team is as important as being individually successful.

Even though the first set of games is met to be silly, there will be some skills learned. Any home cook should learn how to make whipped cream from scratch. There is a flavor difference versus the whipped cream from a container.

Looking at the other challenge of creating a bento box, the recruits will need to listen and apply the skills from Chef Anne and Chef Alex. There is a skill to creating a great bento box.

Also, it is interesting that this Worst Cooks in America season is tackling Japanese cuisine in episode two. It seems that these recruits are being thrown into the deep end of the kitchen right away. Even a good cook can struggle with rolling sushi and making a bento box.

Which two recruits will be leaving bootcamp this week? Here’s how to watch this week’s Worst Cooks in America episode.
