In this week’s Big Time Bake episode, the bakers dive into the deep end.

What sweet treats are under the sea? Big Time Bake is asking these talented bakers to be inspired by the sea and its magnificent creatures. Which baker will ride the wave to victory?

According to the Food Network, this week’s Big Time Bake episode, “Under the Sea,” features the following:

"It’s time to see who will sink and who will swim as four bakers dive into baking cookies, cupcakes and a showpiece cake inspired by the deep blue sea. When six hours is up, host Buddy Valastro, Food Network Star Tregaye Fraser and Cake Boss sculptor Ralph Attanasia will award the most-impressive baker with a dream vacation."

Thinking about a sea theme, this concept could have many different directions. While there is no blue food, the bakers will probably have some blue colors in their desserts. These desserts need to have the sea as inspiration, yet not be too far out in the deep.

Throughout the season, the bakers on Big Time Bake have pushed the envelope of creativity. As seen in last week’s “Food Fight” episode, some of these desserts could even be fake outs. In a way, those desserts looks like an episode of Kids Baking Championship food imposters.

For this sea theme episode, it will be interesting to see if the bakers borrow from Buddy Valastro and a Buddy vs Duff episode. While that whale cake was huge, the realistic integration of the sea creatures and creativity in the design earned a big win. Can these bakers really rise to the occasion?
