For Bobby Berk, Oui by Yoplait’s Limited-Edition Heritage Collection, is more than a delicious yogurt.

Sometimes a simple idea makes perfect sense. With Oui by Yoplait’s Limited-Edition Heritage Collection, Bobby Berk saw more than just another glass yogurt container. For Berk, that pretty glass container could be recreated into a little piece of happiness. Are you ready to think outside of the French yogurt jar?

Anyone who is a fan of Queer Eye has been in awe of Berk’s stunning design transformations. The talented designer finds a way to create happy spaces. While many viewers might not have his eye, everyone can appreciate how the transformation brings joy. In some ways, that special space has a far great impact than anyone can fully appreciate.

Recently, Berk partnered with Oui by Yoplait’s Limited-Edition Heritage Collection to transform these special French inspired glass containers into a little piece of happy. In a simple DIY craft, those French inspired glass jars can become a beautiful hanging succulent planter.

Ahead of Berk’s July 14th Instagram demo, I had the opportunity to chat with him about finding design inspiration and ask for a little DIY encourage for this crafting newbie.

Thinking about this idea, the simplicity is intriguing. For a crafting newbie, Berk encouraged me to just try. More importantly, he reminded me “don’t be afraid not to be perfect.” Sometimes it more about enjoying the experience versus “trying to be perfect all the time.”

Part of this DIY series is about embracing the possible and creating beauty with the things that are in our daily lives. As Berk said, that Instagram feed might seem like a collection of positive highlights, but there are plenty of wilting plants that were deleted off the camera roll. When everyone can find a little happy space for herself, life can be a little fuller.

Although everyone must determine her own special place, Berk encourages everyone to keep that space sacred. With many people working at home, work can overtake that life balance. Wherever that little slice of happy is within your home, Berk recommends keeping it special.

For Berk, his happy spot is filled with his plants. He is proud of his orchids that bloom all year round and seeing those plants thrive brings him joy. Berk mentioned how he nurtures and cares for those plants as if they were his children.

Others might have a different spot. It could be a little corner of the kitchen where you have grown a little chive plant. Maybe, it is a spot where you have a sculpture that you brought home from your honeymoon. Regardless of the space, it is a little place that is special, can bring a smile and where you can celebrate yourself.

To encourage others to bring a little something special into their lives, this DIY event with Berk and Oui by Yoplait’s Limited-Edition Heritage Collection has people thinking beyond just another glass yogurt jar. In a way, it is the chance for anyone to embrace the idea of up-cycling.

Many people have found creative ways to re-purpose a Oui by Yoplait glass jar. From little tea light holders to a planter, the options are many.

Berk appreciates the up-cycling aspect of this DIY event. He mentioned that companies are starting to think about their carbon footprint and their impact with their products. This idea of “pretty reusable container inspires people to re-use it.”

For his DIY craft, Berk is thrilled to bring together an idea of being a “responsible citizen” and his love of plants. The concept of a hanging planter using succulents is a craft that anyone can do (even someone like me who runs from a glue gun).

While some people can look at an old dresser and see the beauty lying under the years of neglect, this DIY craft is going to be straightforward, achievable and, in the end, fun. Even if my cord lengths are a little uneven, it doesn’t matter. It will be something that I created, it will be unique and it will bring a little bit of happy.

With Berk’s advice in my ear, I will plant some succulents in this French inspired glass yogurt jars. Berk said that I just need to give those plants a little water, sunlight and some care. It seems like an easy enough recipe for this foodie to follow.

On July 14, Berk will be making his craft with the Oui by Yoplait’s Limited-Edition Heritage Collection on Instagram. Other designers and crafting pros will be sharing their inspiration in the following weeks.

Hopefully, even non-design experts will give a glimpse of how they transformed these pretty, French inspired jars into something that makes them smile. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfection. Mistakes add to the special quality of making something with your own two hands.

The Oui by Yoplait’s Limited-Edition Heritage Collection has three special designs, French Chic, French Countryside and French Modern. The designs were inspired by the yogurt’s French Heritage. It is a something a different for the yogurt brand.
