Summer and Popsicle are a classic combination. Now, summer is even sweeter because Popsicle Double Pop is back in the freezer aisle. Even though you might have had to wait a year, the iconic, favorite frozen treat is back. How many boxes will you buy?

The iconic frozen treat has a long, storied history. The Twin Pop dates back to The Great Depression. The double stick pop was a two-for-one value. Plus, there was something fun about the double pop, with or without those crafts.

If you remember last summer, everyone was tweeting about #BringBacktheDouble. With over 100K Retweets (and counting), everyone agreed that this classic needed to find a spot in the freezer aisle. After the huge response, Popsicle even asked fans what flavors needed to return and asked for packing input.

While this social media campaign might have sounded like a fun game, it was smart marketing by Popsicle. By asking the fans what they really wanted, it ensures that packages will fly off store shelves. This crowd sourced frozen treat could be a trend for companies. Wouldn’t any company want to ensure an instant hit?

The Popsicle Double Pop is back in three flavors, Cherry, Orange and Banana. Although the flavors were crowd sourced, some grape fans might feel left out. It seems that Banana took that third flavor spot.

Thinking about a banana, that flavor is a little unusual. Still, if people didn’t want it, the flavor wouldn’t be in the box.

The Popsicle Double Pop is back in the freezer aisle now. A box of nine has a suggested retail price of $4.39.
