The newest Dunkin and Harpoon Brewery collaboration is donut beer deliciousness.

While Homer Simpson might think that he is in food heaven, the Dunkin and Harpoon Brewery collaboration is more than just a donut and beer pairing. Building on the current beer trend of incorporating unlikely ingredients and flavors in beer, these donut beers do deserve at least one try.

Previously, Dunkin and Harpoon Brewery collaborated on a Harpoon Dunkin Coffee Porter. The limited-edition beer was quite well received. While that beer channels the familiar coffee that keeps everyone running, the stout is robust. The malty flavors highlight the chocolate and toffee. With a 6.0% ABV, it is a slow sipping beer.

New this year, the special collaboration is launching three new beers. They are Harpoon Dunkin’ Pumpkin, Harpoon Dunkin’ Boston Kreme and Harpoon Dunkin’ Jelly Donut. While the donut beers might not be sessionable, the pumpkin beer will have you wanting at least two (just like that PSL).

The Harpoon Dunkin Pumpkin is inspired by the PSL. The Spiced Latte Ale is full of those classic warm spices. Even with a touch of coffee and a 5.2% ABV, the ale leans towards a sessionable beer. From the light color to the enticing flavors, you might want this ale with both dinner and dessert.

The other two new beers have everyone talking. Although a donut beer is not necessarily new, these beers are using the iconic Dunkin donuts. The Harpoon Dunkin Boston Kreme Stout is a combination of cream and chocolate, just like the donut. Similar to an Irish Stout, there should be good drinkablity. Still, it might be a one beer limit.

The Harpoon Dunkin Jelly Donut is slightly hazy IPA. While fruit is common in a hazy IPA, the jelly aspect is not common. As long as the raspberry flavors are more fruit forward than sweet, this beer might be a hidden gem. Maybe people will come for the hype and stay for the flavor.

If you want to try these beers, the Harpoon Dunkin Dozen mix pack will be available starting in September. The limited releases will be available here Harpoon is sold.
