Burger King tells everyone what’s really in the Whopper recipe.
Are you ready for the Whopper, nothing but the Whopper? Burger King is revealing its Whopper recipe and putting it on the wrapper. That wrapper is revealing what’s really on that flame-grilled burger.
Over the years, Burger King has been known as giving guests food their way. The phrase of your way at BK is expanding beyond your preferred condiments on a burger. Now, it is about being transparent about the ingredients in that Whopper sandwich.
Today’s consumer is savvy and informed. Beyond wanting good value for their food, they want food that is good for them. Even if they choose to indulge in a juicy burger, they want the ingredients in that burger to be high quality. Real food for real people is more than just words.
Burger King is committed to giving consumers real food and has adapted its menu. The Whopper sandwich now features “no colors, no flavors and no preservatives from artificial sources in all markets across the United States.” Currently, 85% of the Burger King permanent food menu meets this standard ,and, by the beginning of next year, BK intends to achieve a 100% food menu meet these criteria.
“We put a lot of effort into the Whopper to make it taste great and the real Whopper free of colors, flavors and preservatives from artificial sources has the same iconic flame-grilled flavor that guests know and love,” said Chris Finazzo, President, Americas, Burger King. “This announcement further highlights our commitment to serve delicious, affordable meals our guests can feel good about.”
By putting the Whopper recipe front and center, BK is making a big statement on the importance of transparency to consumers. Even though these special wrappers are for a limited time, it shows consumers that they are committed to real food at affordable prices. In a way, it is the ultimate your way at BK.
While knowing the Whopper recipe doesn’t necessarily mean that you can recreate it at home, it should give consumers more buying confidence. It might even entice some people to return to the home of the Whopper.
